Hello everyone, I hope this parcel finds you well. Hinamatsuri is a special day in Japan, which is celebrated every year on March 3. It is also often referred to as Doll’s Day or Girls’ Day and its origins go back to the Heian period. Traditional Japanese, ornamented dolls are displayed on platform, which are covered by a red carpet. It is possible to view these in many shop windows, official places as well as private properties. People start showing the dolls in February and take them down immediately after the Hinamatsuri day has passed.  Our school has worked on crafts to celebrate Hinamatsuri with you.  We hope you will enjoy looking at the pictures, with one showing Hinamatsuri dolls made out of small beads and the other showing traditional origami art.  We have also folded a special cube, which displays a Hinamatsuri scene.  Please place the cube carefully on a table, with the little flap at the bottom. Then push the cube up and place the top part that unfolds, on the table so you will be able to see the origami crafts inside the cube. Thank you so much for your continuous friendship and support. Best wishes, Daikuchu junior high school, Toyonaka, Japan.
