150th Anniversary Commemorative Events

On November 21, 2023, Shinden Elementary School was celebrated its 150th anniversary, and we were fortunate to be present at this milestone in its history.
We would like to share with you the past history of our school's education and our vision for the future. It was a memorable event for us to share our educational history and vision for the future with the Mayor of Toyonaka City, the Head of the Board of Education, the nearby school administrators, parents' representatives, and the local community.

The day's ceremonies took place as follows.

Part 1

The students watched the 150th anniversary commemorative video "The History of UNESCO School Shinden Elementary School," which was created by the school staff working together. Then, sixth-grade students presented "Peace on Our Planet Earth" on behalf of the current students.
The "Sinden Elementary School Peace Declaration," which was made during the presentation, was delivered as a message to the next generation of leaders.

Part 2

We invited Mimasu, the lyricist and composer of the second school song "Earth Star Song ～ for smile ～", and he talked that his wishes and thoughts on the "Earth Star Song ～ for smile ～". In the last part of the program, all the students sang the song together with Mimasu's piano accompaniment.
Mimasu joined the chorus in the middle of the song and sang with us. When the chorus was over, the piano accompaniment started again, and this time, the upper grade children began to sing the Earth Star Song in English version. The audience was moved by their singing.
