On February 15 2016 we had the opportunity to learn “Noh dramas” (the classical performing arts of Japan) which was designated as an intangible heritage of UNESCO in 2001. It was one of “Fostering children by the Culture and Arts – Performance Tour - “ hosted by Agency for Cultural Affairs. All of students from 1st grade to 6th grade appreciated the real Noh dramas on the stage which was set up at our school gymnasium.

Mr.Bunzo Ohtsuki, one of the best Noh actors told us about the brief summary of Noh dramas with the video at the beginning. We could learn a lot of Noh such as each name and the various meanings of Noh stage parts. We also had a practice of our school song at the accompaniment of Noh chant. We could sing in a loud voice in sitting straight and it was a special experience for us.

We would like to thank Mr.Bunzo Ohtsuki and every one of Ohtsuki Noh drama group for giving us this opportunity.
